The Raw Material Behind Every Order
What We Print With
Every Tathyam Studios piece starts with choosing the right material. We match filament to function — so what you receive lasts, looks right, and feels considered.
Every Tathyam Studios piece starts with choosing the right material for the job. Whether it's a devotional idol meant to sit on your altar for years, a personalised gift, or a bike accessory that braves the sun and rain — we match the material to how it'll actually be used, so it lasts.
What We
Work With
Filament Type 01
PLA+
Polylactic Acid Plus — our workhorse material
For idols, figurines, and decorative pieces, we use PLA+ — a tougher, more durable version of standard PLA. It holds fine detail beautifully — crucial for facial features and intricate designs — and resists chipping and cracking far better than basic filament.
PLA+ is also the best material for hand-painting — it takes acrylic paint cleanly and holds colour without peeling, which is why it's our default for all idols and personalised pieces.
Filament Type 02
PLA Silk
Naturally glossy, pearlescent finish
Some of our gift and decor pieces use PLA Silk — a specialty filament with a naturally glossy, pearlescent finish. It gives certain designs a premium, shimmering look straight off the printer — no painting required.
Currently available in Silk Gold — ideal for premium gift pieces and trophy-style items that need to look special right out of the box.
Filament Type 03
PLA Marble
Stone-like texture, organic finish
For decor pieces that call for something more organic, we use PLA Marble — a filament with a subtle stone-like texture and tone, giving certain idols and decor items a sculpted, natural finish without any paint.
The marble veining effect is built into the filament itself — every piece comes out unique, with slight natural variation in the pattern, just like real stone.
Filament Type 04
PETG-HS
High-strength, heat-resistant, UV stable
Bike keychains, automotive accessories, and anything that'll spend time outdoors or in direct sunlight are printed in PETG-HS — a high-strength variant that handles heat far better than PLA, resists UV fading, and has more flexibility so it won't become brittle on a hot dashboard or in direct sun.
If your product lives outside, on your bike, or in your car — this is what it's made from.
Filament Type 05
PETG
Translucent
Semi-transparent, plays with light
A semi-transparent finish that lets light pass through and glow — perfect for nightlights, lamp shades, and decor pieces designed to be lit from within. Currently available in Ice Blue.
The translucent quality creates a soft, diffused glow when backlit — making it ideal for decorative lamp pieces and ambient lighting products.

What We
Print With
Bambu Lab A1 Combo
Meet Sakha (सखा) — Sanskrit for partner. Every Tathyam Studios piece is born here. The A1 Combo gives us multi-color precision and consistent, reliable output — so the idol, gift, or accessory you order looks exactly as designed, every time.
Sakha isn't just equipment — it's the co-creator behind every order. A serious machine, not a hobby toy, which is part of why we can take on detailed and custom work with confidence. The AMS system allows up to 4-colour prints in a single run.
Hand-Finished,
Not Just Printed
Every piece goes through manual finishing before it ships. This is the difference between a 3D print and a finished product.
Inspection
Every print is checked for layer consistency, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality before anything else happens.
Deburring
Support structures removed and rough edges cleaned up — so what you receive has no sharp bits, blobs, or print artifacts.
Surface Polish
Careful flame-polishing where needed for a smoother surface on certain material types and product categories.
Hand Painting
Acrylic detailing applied by hand where needed — facial features, colour accents, and fine details that make idols come alive.
Secure Packing
Packed to survive the journey — cushioned, wrapped, and protected so it arrives in exactly the condition it left us.
Pan-India Shipping
Shipped with tracking across India — from our studio in Chandpara to your doorstep, wherever you are.
Frequently
Asked
Not at the moment. Our current materials — PLA+ and PETG — are not certified food-safe, so we recommend our pieces for display, gifting, and decorative use rather than direct food contact. We're working on adding a dedicated food-safe printing line in the future — stay tuned!
With normal indoor use, colours hold up well for years. Direct, prolonged sunlight can cause any plastic to fade gradually — so we'd recommend keeping idols and décor pieces away from direct sun where possible, especially for vibrant colours. For outdoor items, we use PETG-HS specifically because it resists UV fading better than PLA.
Our materials are chosen for durability, but like any handcrafted object, accidental drops or rough handling can cause damage. If something arrives damaged, reach out to us at support@tathyamstudios.in — we're happy to help sort it out.
A soft, dry cloth is usually enough to keep your piece looking fresh. For light dust, a slightly damp cloth works well — just avoid soaking the piece or using harsh chemical cleaners. Keep items away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to preserve colour and finish.
Absolutely — that's what we're here for. Every material we use is sourced for consistency and tested in our own studio before it goes into your order. Just reach out via hello@tathyamstudios.in and describe your idea — we'll recommend the right filament and finish for your project.
